What We Are Looking For

Bic, an EU-based, fast-moving consumer goods company is seeking a University, lab, incubator, accelerator, or startup as a partner that can help us accelerate the replacement of TiO₂, which is used as a whitening and opacifying agent in many of our products.

The prototype can be:

_»_A chemical that the partner can prove as a direct, full substitution of TiO₂
_»_for our products providing similar properties

_»_An industrial process method that could enable us to tailor the color and
_»_opacity without TiO₂

_»_An OEM stationary product without TiO₂ that could replace one or all of
_»_our existing products targeted for this initiative

Our Technical Specification

In many consumer goods products, TiO₂ (Titanium Dioxide) powder is used as an opacifier to provide whiteness and opacity. We are seeking a substitute material, process, or product for the manufacturing process of a number of our consumer goods products that currently rely on TiO₂ for opacity and whiteness.

If an appropriate material, process, or product is found, we would initiate a contract-based project with a finite duration, and a possibility for a project extension. Startup acquisition could also be examined as a possible path forward.
