The methodology is designed to evaluate business incubators' and accelerators' absolute impact and relative performance across 21 dimensions, using a comprehensive set of key performance indicators (KPIs). UBI Global's research projects holistically assess participating programs, identify their strengths and weaknesses, generate actionable metrics and provide recommendations on how they can further improve their impact and performance.

The KPI Directory provides a succinct overview of the 21 key performance indicators (brief definitions, units of measurement, terms, and relative weights) UBI Global uses to assess the impact and performance of business incubators and accelerators worldwide. The 21 KPIs are grouped in seven differently weighted subcategories: Economy Enhancement (4), Talent Retention (2), Competence Development (2), Access to Funds (3), Access to Network (3), Program Attractiveness (3) and Post-incubation Performance (4). These subcategories are grouped in three equally weighted performance categories: Value for Ecosystem, Value for Client Startups and Value for Incubation Program.

World Incubation Summit Attendance
UBI Global holds these conferences every year in a different location. In 2018, the location was Toronto, Canada. In 2019 it will be held October 28-31 in Doha, Qatar. The event sets the stage for networking and exploring opportunities for collaboration with corporations.
